Royal Family: The perfumes worn by Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and the Queen are surprisingly cheap

You might think the Royal Family have expensive tastes in perfume.

In fact, you’d be forgiven for thinking their fragrances of choice were completely unattainable for the rest of us.

But now, research from showerstoyou.co.uk has revealed the Royal Family’s favourite fragrances and some are cheaper than you’d think.

They cross-checked online articles and perfume directories to find out how expensive each of the Royals’ favourite perfumes really are.

Prince Charles



Prince Charles’ favourite perfume is an expensive one

The Prince of Wales has the most expensive taste in his family with a perfume that sells for £245.

The future King’s choice is Creed’s Green Irish Tweed, a perfume “inspired by the iconic gentleman”.

It smells “fresh and woody” and has notes of lemon, Indian verbena, peppermint, violet leaves, Florentine iris, sandalwood and ambergris.

And while the 100ml eau de parfum costs £245, the 500ml bottle costs a whopping £685.

Princess Diana



Princess Diana favoured a floral perfume

The late People’s Princess’ perfume of choice was Quelques Fleurs by Houbigant Paris which was created in 1912.

Described as “ethereal and courtly”, the perfume is as floral as they come.

With notes of nine different flowers at its heart, this fragrance is fit for a princess and costs £130 for 100ml.

Not cheap but not crazily expensive compared to most perfumes.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite isn’t much different in terms of price to Princess Diana’s.

Kate favours White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum, which smells like lilies and gardenia.

The 100ml bottle is available for £125 and is one of Illuminum’s most expensive.

Meghan Markle



Meghan wears Cote d’Azur

The Duchess of Sussex’s favourite fragrance is Côte d’Azur by Oribe.

It “embodies the glamour and heat of the legendary destination” and has notes of bergamot, jasmine and sandalwood.

A 75ml bottle of eau de parfum costs £125.

Princess Anne



Princess Anne wears a perfume from a famous fashion house

The Princess Royal has a soft spot for Calèche by Hermès.

It’s the fashion house’s first fragrance for women and was created in 1961.

The fragrance is “warm and sensual” and has notes of vetiver, jasmine, rose and iris and costs £113 for 100ml.

Prince William



Prince William’s perfume is fit for royals

Prince William’s fragrance of choice is Blenheim Bouquet by Penhaligon’s, a perfumer with a royal warrant.

The perfume was originally created for the Duke of Marlborough.

Today, the intricate bottle sells for £115 for 100ml of eau de toilette.

Queen Elizabeth II



The Queen’s favourite is surprisingly reasonable

The Queen’s favourite fragrance is White Rose by Floris, another perfumer with a royal warrant.

It was created in the 1800s and supposedly worn by Florence Nightingale and Lord Admiral Nelson’s mistress, Lady Hamilton.

The rose, iris and amber perfume is not as costly as you might think.

A 100ml bottle costs only £80 and a 50ml bottle is a modest £60.

Princess Margaret



The late princess favoured a perfume by Oscar de la Renta

Oscar by Oscar de la Renta was Princess Margaret’s fragrance of choice.

The musky and floral perfume has notes of orange blossom, ylang-ylang and opoponax and is the perfumer’s oldest fragrance.

And a 100ml bottle of the eau de parfum is only £59.47.

Prince Harry



Prince Harry has reasonable taste

Prince Harry ‘s perfume of choice is the cheapest among his whole family.

He uses Cool Water by Davidoff, a fragrance that smells like coriander, mint, lavender and amber.

It costs only £54 for 125ml at Boots and it’s even on sale for £36 right now.
