Li-Fi and Wi-Fi also use different frequencies. The frequency for Li-Fi is about 10,000 times the spectrum of the radio frequency. Wi-Fi, on the other hand, uses the 2.4Ghz, 4.9Ghz, and 5Ghz frequencies.


The distance that can be covered by the network is also very important. The distance that is covered by Li-Fi is around 10 meters. On the other hand, the Wi-Fi covers an area of around 32 meters. Furthermore, there are Wi-Fi repeaters that you can use to extend the range. The coverage is important because, from the point where the Wireless is being transmitted, only devices within that coverage area will be able to connect successfully to the network.


The components that you will need to set up a Li-Fi and Wi-Fi network are different. The components for the Li-Fi network include an LED bulb, photodetector, and LED driver. On the other hand, the components for setting up a Wi-Fi network include routers, access points, and modems.
